Singaporeans woke up sexually… now will they wake up politically?

Students from Singapore have shown amazing enthusiasm in amateur pornography last days, flooding the net with search requests for the Tammy NYP and Bukit Batok Videos. It seems that they are not so much aware of the parliamentary elections coming closer this year. On the other hand one could ask, why they should. The winner is already known. It will be the People’s Action Party that rules the country, since it was expelled from the Malaysia-Sabah-Sarawak federation in 1965.

The party’s track record on election fraud is huge: reshaping constituency boundaries when polls show good support for the opposition; sueing of opposition leaders until they run out of money to finance their campaign; scheduling election dates in the monsoon season; locating opposition rallies to remote and inaccessible spots…

The list of nasty tricks is long. Singabloodypore has assembled an excellent record of them. But people should not give up their hopes too early. This year, the situation is different. Opposition parties, which until now never held more than two seats in the 84 seat parliament, plan to attain 57 seats this year. Official sources give a more realistic figure with about 30 to 40 seats. Thus, this time not even Lee Kuan Yew, the great old man of Singapore, would be able to give a valid explanation for the discrepancies between polls and results, should the opposition not reach at least 20 seats.

It’s time for a change and the following sites provide a good orientation for Singaporeans whom to elect this year:
